Meditations on the Soul

As I describe in the first meditation, after coming out of Christianity I was confident I could dispense with the concepts of God, heaven, hell and life after death.  However, I was NOT prepared to dispense with the idea of a soul.  Or more specifically, I couldn’t as easily dismiss the idea of a non-physical, mental self.  My curiosity about how a non-physical self could arise from a physical brain led me into the topics of philosophy, dualism, cognitive science, and the hard problem of consciousness.

After much reading, study, and pondering, my bone-headed determination and persistence led me to what I believe is a compelling, straightforward solution to this problem.

I summarize my solution to the mystery of dualism, aka the hard problem of consciousness in the video below.
